This week we're highlighting Black Boston, an awesome organization making Boston a more equitable and just city.
Originally started during the May 2020 protests, Black Boston is a community organization that uplifts and supports Black Bostonians. Founded by two women of color, their mission is to actively dismantle racial inequities while promoting creativity and solidarity within Greater Boston's Black community.
Our hope is through pushing for social, political, and economic change, alongside the sharing of resources, we can build an equitable community. -Toiell Washington, Black Boston co-founder
Now an official nonprofit organization, Black Boston is planning a plethora of campaigns and mutual aid projects for summer 2021. With the help of community members, leaders, and supporters (i.e., YOU), Black Boston's Educational Programming team, Mental Health & Wellness team, and Political Advocacy team will be able to deliver valuable resources and reimagine the community.
